Quiche with Ham and Swiss Cheese

Ham and Swiss Cheese Quiche is a classic quiche recipe that can make a delicious breakfast or lunch meal. This dish combines a cheesy egg custard with pieces of ham and cheese in a flaky pastry crust. To make this delicious quiche, you will need a pre-made 9-inch pastry crust, butter, eggs, cream, ham, swiss cheese, Dijon mustard, nutmeg, salt, and pepper.

Ingredients:

  • 1 9-inch pre-made pastry crust
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup cubed ham
  • 1 cup shredded swiss cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • pinch of nutmeg
  • salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Place pastry crust in a 9-inch pie pan. Brush the melted butter over the crust.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, cream, mustard, nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Stir in ham and cheese.
  3. Pour the egg mixture into the pastry crust. Bake in preheated oven for 40 to 45 minutes or until center is set and top is lightly browned.
  4. Let the quiche cool for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm.
  5. To freeze the quiche, wrap the cooled quiche in plastic wrap and foil. Freeze for up to 2 months.
  6. When ready to serve, preheat oven to 350°F. Unwrap the quiche, place on a baking sheet, and bake in preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes or until center is set and top is lightly browned.
  7. Let the quiche cool for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm.
