Roasted Duck with Plum Sauce Recipe
This delicious roasted duck with plum sauce is a great dinner option for any night of the week. It’s easy to make and full of flavor, with a tangy plum sauce that pairs perfectly with the roasted duck. You can serve this dish with a side of your favorite vegetables for a complete meal.
Ingredients:
- 1 whole duck, washed and patted dry
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1/2 cup of plum jam
- 1/4 cup of balsamic vinegar
- 1 teaspoon of freshly chopped thyme
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
- In a small bowl, mix together the garlic powder, smoked paprika, and olive oil. Rub the mixture over the entire duck.
- Place the duck in a roasting pan. Roast in the oven for 1 hour and 30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, combine the plum jam, balsamic vinegar, and thyme. Heat over medium-high heat until boiling. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
- When the duck is done, remove it from the oven and brush it with the plum sauce. Roast for an additional 10 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
- Serve the roasted duck with the remaining plum sauce and side of your choice.
