Baked Garlic and Cauliflower Macaroni and Cheese
This delicious Baked Garlic and Cauliflower Macaroni and Cheese is a delicious way to enjoy your favorite comfort food. A combination of garlic, cauliflower, and cheese make for a flavorful macaroni and cheese dish that is sure to be a hit with the whole family.
Ingredients:
- 1 head of cauliflower, cut into small florets
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups of milk
- 2 cups of shredded cheese, such as cheddar, mozzarella, or jack
- 3 cups cooked macaroni
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional toppings: breadcrumbs, fresh parsley, extra cheese, garlic powder
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the cauliflower florets and cook for 8-10 minutes until tender. Drain and set aside.
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the flour and garlic and whisk to combine. Cook, stirring constantly, for 2-3 minutes until the mixture starts to bubble.
- Slowly add the milk, whisking constantly, until the mixture is smooth and thick. Add the cheese and stir until melted. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- In a large bowl, combine the cooked macaroni, cauliflower, and cheese sauce. Pour into an oven-safe baking dish.
- Top with breadcrumbs, fresh parsley, extra cheese, and garlic powder, if desired.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden and bubbly. Serve hot.
