Ham and Pineapple Hawaiian Mac and Cheese Recipe

Ingredients:
- 2 cups elbow macaroni
- 1 cup diced ham
- 1 cup diced pineapple
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups milk
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup panko bread crumbs
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Cook macaroni according to package directions, drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, cook ham and pineapple over medium heat for 3-4 minutes or until ham is golden.
- In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook for 1-2 minutes or until golden. Slowly whisk in milk and cook until sauce thickens. Add in cheddar cheese, stirring until melted. Season with salt and pepper and remove from heat.
- Add cooked macaroni and ham and pineapple mixture into cheese sauce and stir until combined. Pour into prepared baking dish.
- In a small bowl, combine panko bread crumbs and melted butter. Sprinkle over mac and cheese.
