Ingredients:

  • 1 sheet frozen gluten-free puff pastry, thawed
  • 3 large apples, cored, peeled, and cut into 8 wedges
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup apple juice
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/4 cup apricot jam

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F. Grease a 9-inch round tart pan with a removable bottom.
  2. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pastry into a 12-inch round. Place the pastry into the prepared tart pan.
  3. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the apples, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the apples are softened and caramelized.
  4. Add the apple juice and cook for an additional 2 minutes, until the liquid has been absorbed. Remove from heat and set aside.
  5. Arrange the apple wedges in the tart pan, leaving a 1-inch gap between each wedge. Sprinkle the walnuts over the apples.
  6. Bake for 25 minutes, until the crust is golden brown and the apples are softened. Remove from the oven and let cool for 10 minutes.
  7. In a small saucepan, heat the apricot jam over low heat until melted. Brush the jam over the tart. Serve warm or at room temperature.
