A classic combination of broccoli and cheddar cheese in a rich and savory quiche

Ingredients:

  • 1 9-inch pie crust
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cups fresh broccoli florets, chopped
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and sauté the onion until softened.
  3. Add the broccoli and cook until tender.
  4. Sprinkle the cheese over the bottom of the pie crust.
  5. Spread the vegetable mixture over the cheese.
  6. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, salt, and pepper.
  7. Pour the egg mixture over the vegetables.
  8. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is golden brown.
  9. Let cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
