These Caramel Salted Choux Puffs are the perfect sweet treat to make for yourself or to share with family and friends. The puffs are made with a choux pastry base and then topped with a delicious salted caramel sauce for an indulgent flavour. The result is a crunchy and creamy delight that is sure to please!

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 3 tablespoons caramel sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sea salt

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F and line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add water and bring to a boil.
  3. Add the flour all at once and stir vigorously until the mixture forms a ball. Remove from heat and set aside.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs with an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Add the sugar and salt and beat until combined.
  5. Slowly add the egg mixture to the flour mixture and beat until smooth.
  6. Drop the dough by tablespoonfuls onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving 2 inches between each puff.
  7. Bake for 25 minutes, or until golden brown. Let cool on the baking sheets for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. In a small saucepan, heat the cream over medium heat until just boiling. Remove from heat and stir in the caramel sauce and sea salt until combined. Drizzle over the cooled choux puffs and serve.
