Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, mix together the mashed bananas, brown sugar, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Gradually add in the flour mixture, stirring until just combined.
  5. In a small bowl, mix together the cocoa powder, chocolate chips, and cream until smooth.
  6. Pour half of the banana bread batter into the prepared loaf pan. Drop spoonfuls of the cocoa mixture over the batter and use a knife or spoon to swirl it in. Pour the remaining banana bread batter over the top and swirl again.
  7. Bake for 55-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow to cool before slicing and serving.
