Delicious Cream Puffs with Tiramisu Filling

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup confectioners’ sugar
  • 1/4 cup coffee liqueur
  • 1/2 teaspoon instant espresso powder
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Grease a baking sheet.
  2. In a medium saucepan, bring the butter and water to a boil. Remove from heat and stir in the flour. Return the pan to the heat and stir constantly for 1 minute, or until the mixture forms a ball.
  3. Remove from heat and beat in the eggs one at a time. Stir in the vanilla and salt. Drop the dough by spoonfuls onto the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 10 minutes in the preheated oven, then reduce the temperature to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Bake for 30 to 40 minutes, or until golden brown.
  5. To make the filling, beat together the mascarpone, heavy cream, confectioners’ sugar, coffee liqueur, and espresso powder until smooth. Set aside.
  6. Mix together the cocoa powder and 1/4 cup of warm water in a bowl until all the lumps are gone. Dip the tops of the cream puffs into the mixture. Allow to cool completely.
  7. Fill the cream puffs with the mascarpone mixture. Serve chilled or at room temperature.
