Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh grated ginger
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon Chinese five-spice powder
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked egg noodles, for serving

Directions:

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook, stirring occasionally, until it is cooked through and browned. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.
  2. Add the onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the garlic and ginger and cook for an additional minute.
  3. Add the soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, and five-spice powder to the pan and stir to combine. Pour in the white wine and stir to deglaze the pan.
  4. Add the mushrooms to the pan and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Pour in the beef broth and stir to combine.
  5. Add the cooked beef back into the skillet and stir to combine. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  6. Stir in the sour cream and green onions. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve over cooked egg noodles.
