Ingredients:
- 1 pack of puff pastry sheets, thawed
- 200g of goat cheese, softened
- 3/4 cup of fig jam
- 1/2 cup of crushed pecans
- 1/4 cup of honey
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 1 tblsp milk (for egg wash)
- A pinch of salt
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking tray with baking paper.
- Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a floured surface until they are about 1/8 inch thick.
- Evenly spread the softened goat cheese over the pastry sheets, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Spread the fig jam on top of the goat cheese layer.
- Sprinkle the crushed pecans over the fig jam.
- Roll up the puff pastry tightly, starting from one of the shorter sides and working towards the other side.
- Slice the rolled up pastry into 1-inch pieces and place them on the prepared baking tray. Make sure to keep some distance between each swirl to allow them to puff up properly.
- In a small bowl, mix the egg, milk, and a pinch of salt to create an egg wash. Brush this lightly over the top of each swirl.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the swirls are golden brown and puffed up.
- Allow the swirls to cool for a few minutes, then lightly drizzle with honey before serving.
These delicious puff pastry swirls pair perfectly with a chilled glass of white wine. Enjoy them fresh out of the oven for an ultimate taste sensation!
