Gorgonzola and Walnut Beef Stroganoff
This Gorgonzola and Walnut Beef Stroganoff combines the creaminess of Gorgonzola cheese, the crunch of walnuts, and the savory flavor of beef into one delicious dish. The perfect combination of flavors makes this a meal that will warm your heart and fill your stomach.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 cup walnuts, toasted and chopped
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup dry white wine
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup Gorgonzola cheese, crumbled
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 lb. egg noodles
Directions:
- Heat butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking up with a spatula, until the beef has browned. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
- Add the walnuts to the skillet and cook until toasted, about 3 minutes. Remove the walnuts from the skillet and set aside.
- Add the onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add the wine to the skillet and cook for 1 minute. Add the beef broth and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Add the cooked beef, toasted walnuts, sour cream, Gorgonzola cheese, and thyme to the skillet and stir until combined. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Meanwhile, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the egg noodles and cook until al dente, about 5 minutes.
- Drain the noodles and add to the beef stroganoff. Stir to combine and season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot.
