Korean BBQ Macaroni and Cheese with Kimchi
This delicious dish combines the savory flavors of Korean BBQ and the creamy goodness of macaroni and cheese. The kimchi adds a burst of flavor and spice that will have you wanting more. It’s a great way to enjoy a quick and easy meal that’s full of flavor.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb. macaroni
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup Korean BBQ sauce
- 1 cup kimchi, chopped
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
- Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook the macaroni according to the package directions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the flour and garlic powder and whisk to combine. Cook for 1-2 minutes until lightly golden.
- Slowly whisk in the milk and cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce is thick and bubbly. Remove from the heat and stir in the cheddar, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheeses until melted and combined.
- Stir in the Korean BBQ sauce, kimchi, and sesame oil until combined.
- Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and stir to combine. Taste and season with salt and pepper, if desired.
- Transfer the macaroni and cheese to a baking dish and bake in a preheated 350°F oven for 20-25 minutes, or until hot and bubbly.
