Lemon Chai Drizzle Cake Recipe

Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 3 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 teaspoons ground chai
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease and flour an 8-inch round cake pan and set aside.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugars with an electric mixer until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Mix in the lemon juice, vanilla extract, and ground chai.
- Add the flour mixture alternately with the buttermilk, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and lemon juice until smooth. Drizzle over the cooled cake.
