Lemon Chocolate Drizzle Cake Recipe
This Lemon Chocolate Drizzle Cake is a delightfully refreshing and decadent dessert. The light and fluffy lemon cake is filled with a rich and creamy chocolate drizzle, making it a perfect treat for any occasion!
Ingredients:
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoon baking powder
- ¾ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 ½ cups sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- ¾ cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- ¼ cup heavy cream
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour 2 (9-inch) round cake pans.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla extract.
- Add half of the flour mixture to the butter mixture and beat until just combined. Beat in lemon juice, then add remaining flour mixture and beat until just combined.
- Divide batter evenly between prepared cake pans and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool in pans for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
- In a small saucepan over low heat, melt together chocolate chips and heavy cream. Stir until smooth.
- Drizzle the melted chocolate over the cooled cake layers, then slice and serve.
