Meatloaf Stuffed with Sausage and Mushrooms

This delicious meatloaf is sure to be a hit with the family. It’s filled with sausage and mushrooms, giving it an interesting flavor and texture. The meatloaf is then cooked in the oven until golden brown and served with a side of your favorite vegetables or mashed potatoes.

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs. ground beef
  • 1 lb. pork sausage
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup mushrooms, finely chopped
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup parsley, minced
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon basil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, sausage, bread crumbs, onion, mushrooms, egg, garlic, parsley, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Mix together until everything is well combined.
  3. Press the mixture into the prepared baking pan. Make an indentation in the middle of the meatloaf and fill it with the tomato sauce.
  4. Bake for 45 minutes, or until the meatloaf is cooked through. Allow to cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
  5. Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, heat the remaining tomato sauce over low heat. Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Once the meatloaf has cooled, slice into portions and serve with the tomato sauce.
