Penne in Vodka Sauce Recipe
This creamy Penne in Vodka Sauce is an easy and delicious dinner that can be made with simple ingredients. The smoky, slightly sweet vodka sauce pairs perfectly with the penne pasta and makes for a comforting meal.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb penne pasta
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/4 cup onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1/2 cup vodka
- 1 (14 oz) can diced tomatoes
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and add the penne. Cook according to package instructions, until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and cook for 3-4 minutes, until softened. Add the garlic and red pepper flakes and cook for another minute.
- Add the vodka and bring to a boil. Allow the vodka to reduce and the alcohol to cook off, about 3-4 minutes.
