Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 large eggs

Ingredients for Cream Cheese Frosting:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the vegetable oil, buttermilk, eggs, red food coloring, vanilla extract, and white vinegar.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Fill each cupcake liner with batter until about 2/3 full.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a cupcake comes out clean.
- Allow cupcakes to cool completely before frosting.
For the Cream Cheese Frosting:
- In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and cream cheese until creamy and smooth.
- Gradually add in the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, beating until the frosting is fluffy and well combined.
