Ingredients:
- 1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
- 8 ounces sausage meat (or remove the casing from sausages)
- 1 tablespoon breadcrumbs
- 1 teaspoon dried herbs (such as thyme or sage)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, combine the sausage meat, breadcrumbs, dried herbs, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface.
- Cut the pastry into rectangles or squares.
- Place a portion of the sausage mixture along one edge of each pastry piece.
- Roll up the pastry, enclosing the sausage mixture, and press the edges together to seal.
- Place the sausage rolls onto the prepared baking sheet, seam side down.
- Brush the rolls with beaten egg to give them a golden color.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the sausage is cooked through.
- Remove from the oven and let the Sausage Rolls cool slightly before serving.
- Serve warm as a tasty appetizer or a satisfying snack.
