Ingredients:

  • 1 pound of lean ground beef
  • 8 ounces of mushrooms, chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1/4 cup of bread crumbs
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon of dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon of dried basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1/2 cup of beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons of cornstarch

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the ground beef, mushrooms, garlic, onion, bread crumbs, egg, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper.
  3. Form the mixture into a loaf shape and place in an oven-safe dish.

  8. Return the meatloaf to the oven and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
