Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. elbow macaroni
  • 6 slices bacon, chopped
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups shredded Gouda cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Cook the macaroni according to package directions, then drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the flour and whisk until smooth.
  4. Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring constantly until the mixture comes to a simmer.
  5. Add the shredded Gouda cheese, stirring until melted and smooth.
  6. Stir in the cooked bacon, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce, stirring until well combined.
  8. Serve hot.
