Traditional Yorkshire Pudding

The classic recipe, made with flour, eggs, milk, and beef drippings. Serve with roast beef and gravy for a hearty and satisfying meal.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons beef drippings or vegetable oil

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and milk together.
  4. Add the egg mixture to the flour mixture and whisk until smooth.
  5. Let the batter rest for 30 minutes.
  6. Add the beef drippings or vegetable oil to a 9-inch (23 cm) baking dish and place it in the oven to heat for 5 minutes.
  7. Remove the dish from the oven and pour the batter into the dish.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the pudding is golden brown and puffed up.
  9. Serve with roast beef and gravy.
