Ingredients:

  • 1 package of frozen puff pastry dough
  • 1 quart of vanilla ice cream, softened
  • 1/4 cup of butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup of heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup of chopped nuts (optional)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Lay puff pastry dough out on a lightly floured surface and roll out to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut the dough into 2 inch circles and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  3. Bake the puff pastry circles for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Remove from oven and let cool completely.
  4. Meanwhile, in a medium saucepan, heat the cream, butter, sugar, and corn syrup over medium heat until the sugar is dissolved.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in the chopped nuts and chocolate chips. Set aside and let cool.
  6. Scoop a tablespoon of softened ice cream into each cooled pastry circle. Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet and freeze for 30 minutes.
  7. Once the profiteroles are frozen, place them on a serving plate and top with the cooled hot fudge sauce. Serve immediately.
