This delicious Venison with Red Wine Reduction Sauce is the perfect dinner for any occasion. The red wine reduction sauce adds a deep, rich flavor to the venison that pairs perfectly with the game meat. The sauce is easy to make and will make any dinner special.

Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds of venison steak
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 red onion, diced
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 cup of dry red wine
  • 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup of beef broth

Directions:

  1. In a large skillet, heat the butter and olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the venison steaks and cook until browned, about 4 minutes per side. Remove the venison from the pan and set aside.
  2. Add the red onion and garlic to the skillet and cook until softened, about 3 minutes. Pour in the red wine and let it reduce for about 4 minutes.
  3. Add the Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper. Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Pour in the beef broth and bring the mixture to a simmer. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has thickened.
  5. Return the venison to the pan and spoon some of the sauce over the top. Simmer for 10 minutes, or until the venison is cooked through.
  6. Serve the venison with the red wine reduction sauce on the side.
  7. Enjoy!
