These homemade tortillas are soft, flavorful, and perfect for tacos, burritos, or wraps. Made with wheat flour, they’re a healthier option than store-bought tortillas.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup warm water
- 3 tbsp vegetable oil
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour and salt.
- Add the warm water and vegetable oil to the mixture and stir until the ingredients are well combined.
- Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Divide the dough into 8-10 equal parts and roll each part into a ball.
- On a lightly floured surface, use a rolling pin to roll each ball into a thin, round tortilla.
- Heat a nonstick pan or griddle over medium-high heat.
- Cook each tortilla for 1-2 minutes on each side until it is lightly browned and cooked through.
- Repeat the process with the remaining tortillas.
- Serve the tortillas warm with your favorite taco or burrito fillings.
